Defender Cargo Space Measurements

Cargo space boxes on sides?
Waiting on my 110 5 seater on order and wondered how the cargo space is affected by the extra boxes in this photo? Anyone have these, And what are they? I'm thinking three zone climate may be one and the air compressor the other. I thought the optional air compressor was installed on the other side from what is show in this photo.

You pull the lever at the base of the seat, on the side. I don't have access to the car right now, otherwise I would provide pictures but the seats are pretty close to flat, I don't regret getting the extra seats (3rd row only fits children btw). I was planning on sleeping in the back if the need ever arises and this slight incline will not interfere.
I also have a 7 seater and its pretty close to flat when locked in, and works well for me.

Seat measurement
[QUOTE=merrion13;737807]Thought people might find the following useful in evaluating the cargo area. Having used ours a few nights to sleep in, definitely appreciate the room! Note that the measurements are from the 'fixed' parts of the car. So if you were curious about sleeping, in moving the seats forward you can much more than the 72" at the center console.
Hi, Can you pleas help me by sharing the length off the seat (sitting area, not the backside) when folded down (because it sticks up vertical) and the diffrence in cm between the back of the seat (the flat part) and the top of the sitting area?
Thanks!

After watching the series of Defender videos from the guy in Japan (Fish7 or something), I tracked down the pad he had in the back of his truck. Google translate helped me read the Japanese version of Walmart/Amazon. They have some WILD stuff. Anyway, I crossed it to Amazon and got this. Good news, I scored one that fits. Bad news, it appears sold out now. But anyway, one of the pics has the measurement and maybe they will relist. Good luck! (It's not really self inflating, more compressible foam and a head rest I don't inflate.) Anyway, the sizes are a good start for a good fit.

Extra space behind 2nd Row 7 seater
I’m curious if the adjustable 2nd row in a 7 seater, when slid all the way forward, makes the trunk space a little bigger than the 5 seater.
I keep car seats in my current car now, when I need a little extra space I can slide the 2nd row forward for an extra 6inches.
wondering if it’s the same way with the 7 seater defender. From what I’ve seen it looks like the 5seater 2nd row isn’t adjustable at all and has metal D rings that the 2nd row seat backs clip into. Those rings look like they kind of stick into the cargo area when the seats are folded flat. The 7 seater looks like it doesn’t have those rings

I don't have a pic but you'll want to lower one of the seat backs. Keep in mind that the seat back won't lay flat so your bag will be sitting on an incline which can sometimes be a hassle when closing the door. But it works. Was an emotional purchase for me too, but I'm able to fit my foldable Oru kayak in the back without lowering the seat, so that was golden for me!
