I’ve seen pictures of defenders with metal grill guards, but all I can find is the plastic one that Land Rover sells. We have a lot of deer in our area and I’d really like to get some front end protection for my defender. Can anyone point me in a direction where these are available?

Man, those are nice, but seem really expensive for what you get. I can buy a full replacement bumper and grill guard for my one ton truck for less than that.

 

Youre absolutely correct. Its overpriced for what it is. Safarigard has debuted its full metal bumperz im not sure how much it is.

 

get the specs and picture of the guard and take it to your local machine shop and they will hack one out for a fraction of the price and Powdercoat it

 

We're looking at AUD prices, so that 4500 becomes roughly $3k USD. Not terrible considering JLR wants $1500 for the mostly cosmetics factory "A Frame". Not cheap, obviously but not terribly unreasonable.

Does anyone state-side have a similar Bull bar / grill protector?

 

Lucky8 teased a bullbar on instagram seems like a year ago. No idea if it’s ever going to see production at this point though
