"Defender Sport" on the way
It's been spotted again, folks. Very clearly taking a lot of inspiration of L663. At the window line on the back, it juds out, and the rear bumper has a sticky outy center bit like the L663 and similarly placed tow hooks. Also rip-off 5098 (?) wheels.

Still struggling to see what makes this a baby defender in anything other than name. It looks like an Evoque with a more 'Range Rover front end' and more squared off like a Defender in the rear, but not quite enough to be truly boxy.
In the end I'll be suprrised if this is anything more than a crossover update based on the Evoke/Disco Sport.

Looks like a puffed up Velar ...
But, here is what ChatGPT states...
The car you've encountered is a prototype of the upcoming 2028 Land Rover "Baby" Defender, officially known as the Defender Sport. This compact electric SUV is set to debut in 2027 and will be built on Jaguar Land Rover's Electric Modular Architecture (EMA) platform, which also underpins the next-generation Range Rover Evoque, Velar, and Discovery Sport.

Key Features:
- Design: The Defender Sport retains the boxy, rugged aesthetic of its larger sibling but in a more compact form. It features a flat roof, upright rear, and distinctive low-mounted taillights, reminiscent of the Mercedes-Benz G-Class
- Powertrain: It will be fully electric, offering dual-motor all-wheel drive for enhanced off-road capability. The EMA platform supports 800-volt architecture, enabling rapid charging at up to 350 kW .
- Dimensions: Approximately 4.6 meters (15 feet) in length, positioning it between the Defender 90 and 110 in size. This makes it a direct competitor to the upcoming "baby G-Class" from Mercedes-Benz
- Production: Manufacturing will take place at JLR's Halewood facility in the UK, with batteries supplied from Somerset .
