At the tower arch (arches np) trailhead, we did the suggested counter clockwise route of the 4x4 trail with the technical rock first.

Fantastic, right? You are spot on - feels like Mars (or what I’d expect Mars to feel like). That loop is fantastic and the varied terrain gives the opportunity to utilize every mode…

@Mcdooogs Do you have the voyager sliders and the ladder to go with the roof rack?

Activated Idiot mode in TR2 yesterday. It performed wonderfully.

Quite the day. Plenty of digging, lots of hours, two winches and an amazing group of folks saved the day. I feel very fortunate to have met such an amazing group who put their skills to the test. A Tundra and Jeep Wrangler, both heavily modded, both with winches, and some very skilled work. Being the driver was an experience I'll not soon forget. Sure am glad I installed the recovery loops. No idea how I'd have gotten out without them.

After sitting at 29 degree angle with a soft bank and river to my passenger side, it sure felt good to be horizontal.

Learnt a few things. Hopefully I'm less of an imbecile after this debacle. Time will tell.

There's no cure for stupid.

"Activated idiot mode" - I've gotta steal that one!!

Any body damage? Hope not. Doesn't look like it. How did it happen for the lesson learned?

Got stuck in a little snow. Thought little of it and reversed out. Before I knew it, it slid sideways into the ditch.

Tried to self recover with a tow strap and max trax after some digging. Just made it worse. Repeated again. Worse again.

Lesson is, when your in the ****, learn to know when to stop digging. I'll be much more wary of snow on these tracks in the future.

There is a roaring forest river in wait.

(Edit. No body damage to the Defender. I'm a beaten up a bit)
