I did about 80 dirt miles in the rain, wind, and hail this weekend out in the Mojave desert and another 500 freeway miles. So nice to have this “Lux 4x4” - I never feel compromised or stretched in any situation.

Camping in the rain. Should be some fun sloppy, muddy trails come the morrow.

A fun day in the slop.

Good craic trying out the sliders. Definitely made for less stress. Took a few solid knocks from some rocks.

Looks like a blast! What year is that old, is it a series 2?

If memory serves, it had a license plate LATE 2A so I’m guessing the owner is either a coffee nerd or it’s a Series 2A somewhere toward the tail end of production.

who can say?

yes good fun for sure.

Maybe it was 2nd Amendment?

I went out for a great trail drive in the north georgia mountains Saturday, but took my Jeep. But my friend came along in his work-in-progress 89 D110 ex-RAF. Loads of patina, 68hp 2.4 diesel (well, 68hp when it left the factory; clearly a few of those ponies had been left strewn around the airfields of the UK). But we didn’t take any pics so you’ll have to content yourself with mental images.

The other day I was at the liquor store trying to get a bottle of Weller Full Proof through a bottle lottery. When I left the store, an Eiger Grey Defender was parked behind me! As I was getting into my car, I hear a guy say "I like your car" and sure enough, it was the owner of the other Defender. We ended up chatting for another half hour or so before parting ways. Always great to speak with other owners and enthusiasts!

Unfortunately not. I was #56 in line and there were only three bottles of Weller. The lottery was for the Weller, Buffalo Trace, 1792, Stagg and E.H. Taylor. Everyone wanted the ER and 1792. The guy right in front of me got the last bottle of Weller. I was pissed. The blue label, white label and brown label are the ones I don't have. I have a ton of the green, a few bottles of red and I think we have at least ten bottles of Weller 12.
