Took my 3yr on his first camping trip in Mendocino national forest over memorial day.

Picture doesn't capture incline at all. Coming from a wrangler, I'm always amazed by how well this truck keeps traction

Great fun this weekend. Weather is more rubbish PNW stuff.

A LR event at Reiter Foothills here in WA

Some rock packing and some trail building needed today. Tricky stuff. Got away mostly unscathed. A little more patina on the bash plate. Sliders needed for this place really.

I didn't know the road to Mowich was open yet. A fine spot to camp and paddle. Some great hiking trails too. Good call. That trailer is fantastic.

Nice pic! If you drive and park alot by the shore, you're likely to get alot of corrosion from the salt. Did you treat the Defender with any spray in the aftermarket or at the dealer? I know salt air is difficult for car parts over time, and just wondering if it's worth something extra. Looks like you have the Expedition roof rack - how's the wind noise on the highway driving with it? Looks great!!

@curb-optional - Thanks. No spray treatment beforehand and just a nice power wash using rainwater afterwards. If I lived near the beach and took it more than 1-2x a year, I'd sweat it. As it is, it likely got less salt in the two days than most folks get in a snow season (I live in Texas). Yes, I have the OEM rack. It's not bad. Neither the wheels. Will admit that the molle plates (those black things on the back) were VERY loud. I only use them if I'm going to know I'm using them (aka, camping or overlanding). Otherwise, it's a 5 minute swap and I put them in the barn.

Good luck with yours.

Defender amidst wildlife = Roadkill, I-8, vicinity of Yuma, AZ, AG fields. There’s as much protein smashed on the front-end as in a Morton’s tomahawk ribeye!

This thread consistently has the best photos and recap stories ! Great stuff above with the wood in the wayback, the trip to Reiter, etc.
