Dags look happy. It's a shame I didn't get to meet up with you when you were in my neck of the woods. Seems like you're having an epic trip. I'm supremely envious.

Uwharrie? There are some awesome trails up here around Linville Gorge & Falls area that I can't wait to ride. Old NC-105 is an almost 11 mile jaunt across the ridges and views are spectacular.

Bladen Lakes. 105 is a good scenic drive, if you get the chance hit the Goat Trail to the back side if Buzzard's roost. The exit is right off I-40 as soon as you cross the Tennessee state line.

I think tha's how you get out of / from Hurricane Creek, right? That exit is also a direct right turn off I-40 but a mile before the last NC exit, I think. Max Patch area is closed for repairs right now.

Wiseman's View on old NC-105 should be quite a spot! We just did upper Linville Falls ("horseshoe", not down in the Gorge / Wilderness). I should have my new D90S Tuesday.

If you are back up in the Grandfather Mountain area, check out "The Tin Trout" in Crossnore. ("176 Walnut St, Newland NC" for navigation). Corner of US 221 maybe 5 miles N of Linville? Food is beyond anything in these parts, and desserts are worth the trip!

I had Shrimp & Grits last time (my dad lives near Boone) and Donna had Whole Fried Mountain Trout, followed by Mississippi Mud pie and banana pudding. We had to be hoisted out the door...
