@1:18 I notice that the dual display option has different menu icons but also allows you to cycle in driving mode easily between the different info panels (media/map/4x4…).
I have also noticed the slightly larger size for tachometer and speedo dials.
I do like it… wondering if anyone got OTA for it or simply had a nice surprise after their last visit to the dealership.
I have attached a photo from my 21 model versus some other new model I have found out there.
That looks almost the same. Tach and speedo on the new don't look any bigger to me?
hard to tell if it's the zoom of the image playing tricks, but the black background does look a lot cleaner and maybe contributes. but that quick switch feature in the video is nice. I guess the pivi OTA updates don't update the digital dash... I was really hoping they would integrate Android auto/carplay into the digital dash at some point.

The bezel on the dials looks thinner, we have a cleaner read on numbers and indices.
The main changes in the layout I have noticed are a shift into a single line above the dials for information icons and a single line bellow for mileage, outside temp, trip computer.
It's been over a year and I was wondering if anyone got any update that changed the instrument cluster display layout or the steering controls behaviour.
I would love the ability to cycle easily between the different info panels (media/map/4x4…) as presented in the video above for the 2023 models.

My model year 2023 (Sep 2022 delivery) 110x provides various digital dash layout options. Pressing the "O" round center button on the left of the steering wheel controls as shown in the previously posted video -> and go to Display Layouts. There is a list of the various digital dash configurations. I don't recall seeing any new layouts in Pivi updates in the 3.3.x versions nor in upgrades of 4.x.x (I'm on 4.1) but confess to having not paid detailed attention to available options between updates or upgrades.
Thank you for your reply.
i have a 2021 model and the menu in the full digital dash is different for me and Definitively slower as well.
i have not seen any pivi updates affect the digital dash except for the Apple Maps
hi, I have a 2021 defender, with digital instrumentation like yours, I also liked the 2023 update, unfortunately I think it's not a question of software but of hardware......
looking in the spare parts catalogue, there is digital instrumentation until 2022, and digital instrumentation from 2023, the cost is very different, changing around 500 dollars more for the latest version.
another piece of evidence against the modification is provided by "LR retrofits" uk shop, to upgrade from analogue to digital instrument there are two options depending on the year of the vehicle.
That makes complete sense.
Knowing that it’s a different hardware, if will stop hoping for a software update
