For some reason, I'm sorely tempted to post a picture of the Lego Defender right about now. Anyway, I know a lot of people love their Defender colors (my dad loved his pee yellow Vega), but I think your description of the color palette JLR went with was just about hilarious. There is definitely NO middle room with Pangea. You love it, or you wish you could wrap it.

As for parts falling off, it's going to be fun seeing the posts from the first time Land Rover owners. First time Defender owners that traded-in a Toyota/Lexus or Honda/Acura product will certainly be surprised by the issues that come up. Our LR3 used to change or just delete the memory seat positions. Our LR4 likes to change the the clock format to military time about once a month. Random warning lights and messages appear but are easily erased with a simple restart. A-pillar trim flew off our LR4, nice to see they may have finally fixed that on the Defender. How about the Defender key fob that sometimes unlocks the door or allows you to start the vehicle but not all the time. We refer to all it as "British personality".

I drove Fords for the first 15 years of my driving life. It's a good way to go bankrupt. 20 years later I'm probably still paying for it. Good luck to the future Bronco owners. Residuals are low for a reason.

@PaulLR - you are spot on. I was driving my old Series to work one beautiful Saturday to get some work done. It wasn't a tremendous distance, but I had it up to Warp 11 on the highway. Well, it shuddered like the Enterprise going almost 5 under the speed limit. I was almost to the exit and I hear a large bang and lost all drive. So I coast off the highway and pull over. I crawl under and the drive shaft had completely dropped off (back then I mistakenly bought an inch-pounds torque wrench, but don't ask me how much I had to re-torq....). So I go to my well used tool chest which all old Rovers required and had all the wrenches but no spare bolts that would re-hang it. While I'm sitting on the side of the road it dawns on me. I go back under and take the entire thing out and throw it into the boot. I get in, put it into 4-wheel drive and off I go again.

Yeah, I'm ready for anything. The only problem with the 2020 is that it is HIGHLY likely to be some technology gadget that I'm going to have NO way to repair. I'm ready for it. I'm just bummed I won't be able to back yard mechanic my way out of it.

I’m not ditching my early Bronco reservation, but after driving one and looking over the constrained options I realized that it’s not going to adequately fill all the use cases I need to fill: DD/fun weekender/ road trip with the dogs/ light off road/ moderate towing.

so i dumbed down my fully loaded ~$60k Badlands order into a ~$40k ‘fun truck’ and ordered a Defender 110 S. Both seem like awesome trucks but they definitely arent direct competitors to me.

Wow, your’s is gonna be almost identical to mine, minus the Exterior Color and Lights. I have the Standard LED lights with Fog Lights and Eiger Grey instead. Nice choice though, I think the Bronco is just really cheap and really only has a cool factor going for it. I saw a guy on YouTube get his and already the GOAT modes and ABS were made unavailable after some very light off-roading. Kinda sad. The 2 Door Black Diamond and Outer Banks models with the roof rails and rack look good though. Just that interior blows imo. Anyways, here’s mine for reference if ya wanna compare to what you got on order.

Looks awesome. Early on that specific 'look' was my go-to build but as time progressed I changed things up a bit.

I get a lot of this Bronco / Defender dialog. I wouldn't be on this forum if I wasn't VERY biased, so I will admit I'm not in the bromance category for a Bronco. In fact, I'm pretty much dumbfounded by a lot of it. A buddy of mine is waiting for his Outback to be delivered in August and he showed me this. I was just in utter amazement of the value being put on these. So to those who are more into the Bronco's than I am - why? Why is this thing already way over $100k?

At least my brand new 90 isn’t growing lizard skin and fish scales 😂
