do I or dont I?
Hi, I'm considering buying a 2021 Defender 3.0 D300 MHEV X-Dynamic HSE (one owner from new) however he's put 999.67 miles on it using it as a motorway muncher. Its full Landrover service etc and I only do c4k mile per year but the high millage makes me nervous.... any thoughts or advice .

There are two ways to look at higher mileage vehicles. First is they must have been reliable or second, that they are somehow nearing end of life.
I have a 2022 Defender with very low mileage, only because the vehicle lives at our summer residence, which is both on an island and sits unused for better than half the year. It is garaged and connected to a battery tender when we’re off island.
The vehicle quality is excellent, both the design and the build. While I chose the base P300 engine I’ve heard nothing but positive reviews on the diesel motors, which are not available in the US. I didn’t select the larger P400 engine mainly because the maximum speed limit on our island is only 45mph. On the rare occasion that we take it off island I can confirm it’s happy to cruise along at 80mph without complaint. Basically the base motor seems very adequate.
If your expectation is to only put minimal mileage on the vehicle and assuming the vehicle is in otherwise excellent condition, I would be willing to take the risk.
The only issues I’ve had with my vehicle and they’ve all been minor ****les, have been corrected with the OTA software updates. At this point I really have no complaints.
