Do you wave/acknowledge at other Defender drivers?
Hello all,
Today I drove pass another Defender and did a quick wave and a high beam "wink", with no response back. I have couple of friends with Jeep Wranglers and I always see them acknowledging other Jeeps drivers. Mind you, it got a little bizzare, because there are like tons of Jeeps out there compared to Defenders. Wondering, if anyone else on this forum does some sort of acknowledgment gesture to fellow Defender owners while crossing each other? Perhaps the Defender brotherhood/sisterhood is not that strong .

I haven't come across anyone where I could actually wave. Their vehicles were either parked, or opposite direction on the highway.
I intend to give waves. I was also going to start looking for Defender meetups. I anticipate there will be a few hundred around the DMV region of the country by this summer, at least.

I have a Jeep Wrangler now. With Wrangler drivers, the wave is a whole "thing". Its part of the culture and it does not carry over to the other Jeep models in my experience. Wranglers wave 80%+ of the time. My other car is an Alfa Romeo 4C which is not too common. I have only encountered a handful of these while out on the road, but a quick wave usually gets a response in kind. For that car, I suspect it's shorthand for "you also like unreliable cars." ...so maybe there is hope for a Land Rover wave.

I have a 981 GT4; with 2000 or so in the US it's more prolific than a 4C, but for a Porsche it's pretty rare. I might see one on the street 3-4 times a year. Whenever that happens both parties are pretty stoked and make an effort to wave.
