Re Auto - on mine it's on the far right on the pivi screen. So if you hit the soft-key button down by the temperature dials, the TR settings pop up along the bottom of the pivi screen. From left to right it is grass / gravel / snow --> sand etc etc etc -- Then on the far right it says "AUTO" and I press that.

(maybe if you don't have configurable TR / TR2 it does not have Auto mode? not sure)

Yes, you can do the long press of the actual TR button - or you can press any of the softkeys (including Auto on the far right) along the bottom of the pivi screen when they appear.
