Default Driving off without smart key...

What am I missing...I left the smartkey at home yet was able to start, drive off, and park/turnoff the Defender. I could not lock the car. Thinking I left the smartkey in the car, I searched but could not locate it. I was able to start the car, drive home, only to discover the key was left inside the house the whole time (I only have 1 key). I then used the smartkey to lock/unlock the car, left the key in the house once again, but could not duplicate being able to drive off "smartkey not detected". Activity key was in the car the entire time but not charged. InControl app is active.
Anyone else experience this?

The activity key will still work for a bit even if not charged. Mine looked dead but I was able to use it. Now I keep a charging cable in the vehicle.

I also thought the activity key being in the car could have been why i was able to start it, however, I charged the activity key, left it in the car as before but could not start it. Maybe just a fluke but I will keep on monitoring it.
