Eiger Grey or Gondwana Stone, which is best on a 110X?
With my last date of change quickly approaching, I need a forum opinion on Eiger Grey or Gondwana Stone. Model Year 110X with blacked out squares and A pillars, and 6011 20" Gloss black six spoke wheels for Wrangler Dura-Tracs.
I am split between the two colors and would appreciate your 'collectively wise' counsel and any pics that might help me decide.

I went with an Eiger Grey 110 X. I did not consider any other color.
However since I bought mine, I've seen 2 Gondwana X models for sale online and and *REALLY LOVE IT*. I think it would be very sharp with the tan/black interior.
Re the pillars and squares. I went with the grey paint color squares/pillars -- I've changed the pillars to black and think this is the best look. Pillars black, colored squares. And I've actually come to REALLY like the grey square on the back after spouting off about how much I hated it for a few weeks when I first got the car to all my friends who asked what it was. This colored square grows on you, I swear it does. It looked so out of place, now it is one of my favorite details about the car (btw trained architect here so I have a somewhat keen sense of proportion and design language, at first I thought it ornamental, now I think it's quite smart -- that said it's all very subjective). It does - as McGovern says -(something like)- "plant the rear of the car right over the rear wheel". I agree.
Godwana Stone is ... very hot on an X model. I don't think you can go wrong with either.
I might go with the satin grey 20" wheels instead of gloss black (can you still get them, I believe so but..). I did, and I really like them. A bit meaner than the glossies. I had gloss black wheels on an M4 convertible and they were literally annoying to keep clean ish.
For me though, Eiger. Here's mine:
At the dealer, Eiger Grey with the still-color matched A Pillar
With A Pillar replaced with black one (genuine from LR which comes pre-painted, I bought from a forum member here who had cancelled his order, they are around $250 new for both ... can get from Powerfuluk etc)
Side shot showing A pillar in black but retaining the Eiger square on back windows

I went through the same decision between Pangea and Gondwana. Never even considered a brown car in 40 years of buying cars but that Gondwana Stone is gorgeous! I ended up going with Pangea partly because there is already a Gondwana Stone in my neighborhood. Color choice is very personal, but my vote for you would be Gondwana stone.
good luck either way.

I have an eiger 110x as well. I like it, but only have it because that's what came into the dealer and I didn't want to order and wait forever. My first choices were gondwana and pangea. I never see gondwanas around here. I rarely see defenders in general though. I fell in love with the original gondwana 110x snow photos that came out years ago and have loved that spec ever since.

It is very hard to find pics of an actual X model in Gondwana ... but... a guy on Facebook had a problem with his and posted a great pic of one here today - Looks like an X with the gloss black trim, black hood & black grille. With the matte black bigger wheel arches added. Looks very sharp.
(oops looks like this link won't work here?)

I heavily debated color as well and ultimately ended up on Eiger, gloss black roof, Eiger stamp and A-pillar with the 20" 5098 in Satin Grey identical to the pics above. I love the combo. I know there's a lot of grey out there but with the black roof it stands out. If you search my profile you'll see a poll I threw up on colors. Eiger/Black roof won out convincingly. That being said, I think all Defender colors look great! Very personal decision.
