Are the OEM Expedition Roof Rack bars adjustable? Are you able to shift them forwards/backwards in order to match specific cargo dimensions?

I imagine because the rack is tapered that would limit flexibility here?

Yes, they are. Also as you said to some degree/restriction as they are tapered.

 

I have a third crossbar (Thule) in the way back that basically protects the fin. It also gives me options based on what I am putting up there, without having to shift things around. I also do not have the keys for the factory cross bars, but that is a whole other issue.
