Default Extended Warranty

Getting close to the arrival of our 2021 Defender! I stopped by the dealer today for them to look over my current car and give me a trade-in quote. Talked with the finance manager a bit about interest rates and extended warranties. I was surprised that LR doesn't offer it's own in-house extended warranty anymore. The dealer told me who they work through, but I figured I'd ask y'all what your thoughts were. Normally with a factory backed warranty I'd get it when I originally purchased the car, but since it seems to be a 3rd party I don't know that I see the point. Better to wait until my Defender gets near the end of the factory warranty to look around. What has everyone else done? I'd rather not lump the warranty into the financing of the Defender if I can just purchase something in the next few years unless there is another reason that I'm not seeing.

Replying mostly to make sure I stay on this one; curious as well.

No real incentives for 2021 Defenders unfortunately. I think the Chase interest rate aprox 2.7%. LR hasn’t had to do any real incentives to push the Defender. The dealer joked that they released a 0.9% interest rate fir remaining 2020 Defenders, yet no one has any left!

I originally bough the actual Land Rover warranty , there is one. It costs a little more. The underwriter was obviously someone else, but the letterhead and contract is Land Rover. Then I realized i could take that $7300 and invest it in Apple or the like and HIGHLY likely have $10-14000 in 4 to 5 years and cover anything etc and make money

Thanks 4Corsa. I have been trying to get my sales guy to commit to an APR,all he says is he can probably get me under 3%.
Been waiting on a call to say the car is ready as it showed up on the dealer website on Sunday saying “in transit” and I know it to Baltimore last week. Dealer website as of today has taken down all MY21’s.

Picked up my 2021 110 last Tuesday.
Went through in-house dealer (chase) financing.
2.5% for 60 mos.
they would not give me the 1k allowance on the 2021MY (only available for 2020MY). Also was told 0.9% financing is only for the 2021 Range Rover and cannot be applied to the defender.
The dealer did not even offer the extended warranty during the sale. I had to inquire about it and am still waiting for the info from the sales rep. He was only pushing the wheel/tire protection for $999. From doing a quick search on my own, the extended warranty is up to 100k miles and 7yrs and estimated to cost around 6k. Please double check that though. Hope that helps.

I'm leaning towards just purchasing an extended warranty in a few years as my Defender gets closer to the end of it's factory one. Seems to make more sense for me to hold onto the $6k for the time being. Just curious what others that have recently purchased have experienced. Looking forward to mine coming in though!!

I got a MY20 HSE in mid December. Got the 2.49% Chase rate. Could’ve gotten a 2.2 through Navy Federal, but stuck with LR for purpose of ease. They calculated the difference over the term of the loan and took that off the cost.

Did end up getting the extended warranty since I put so many miles on my vehicles commuting. Went with the 5yr/100k miles and I think it was somewhere around $3200’ish.

What company was the extended warranty through?
