Factory Option for Improved Reversing Lights?
Hello everyone,
I was traveling over the weekend and saw a brand spanking new 130 parked on the street. I went over to check it out and saw that it had what appeared to be extra LED reversing lights in the little rectangular spaces where people commonly fit aftermarkets. Not to judge on appearances, but the vehicle itself (very fancy) and the driver (ditto) didn't really look like the type of Defender owner to pursue aftermarket mods. Given the newness of this particular Defender, I wonder if maybe Land Rover is putting better reversing lights on these now, and if so, if this is something that could be added by the dealer to an older Defender?
I would've taken a picture, but it creeps my wife out when I do that. She calls it car-stalking.
Thanks,
Myron

We may actually be going backwards! On the powerfuluk OCTA video, the area where we put the third party reverse lights is filled in with some sort of a grill!! I don’t know if the reverse light situation has been improved elsewhere or if the grill can be removed.
I hate cheesy aftermarket crap but am all about functional modifications.
In my case, I did add the reverse lamps, because the reverse "indicators" on the L663 are useless garbage. They do not illuminate behind the vehicle. Now, I can see when I backup. Highly recommend!
Note, I snipped the wire that illuminates the red surround, so mine are just white when I backup. I thought it a bit silly to have an another red outline. There's enough of that on the back.
I got this style but not from this company, they didnt have them yet when I bought them, I bought mine straight from a supplier in China which is where I believe they actually source theirs from anyways --> . https://huntersprestige.com/products...44723043991839
(Basically V3 -- but before they had V3)
In hindsight, I probably would have preferred the powerful UK kind, but these were a bit more "plug and play" and they work fine, and have held up now for 2 years.

Great to know, thank you @nashvegas . I have just ordered a pair from Powerful UK, along with the kit that turns the passenger side (US) towing ring into a step-up.
I'm sure I'll have installation questions on the lights, so I'll come back here and report my progress.
Thanks all!
