Fan Runing
When it is hot outside, the fan will run as it is supposed to. I drove new Defenders in Africa where the temps will hit 130 F, and the temperature gauge will shoot to the red zone as the fan could not keep up. Every time this happened, we poured gallons of water onto the engine. The pouring of the water resets the heat sensors and everything would go back to normal. Even with the temp gauge hitting the red, there was zero damage to the engine, and the Defender kept going like nothing else.
How was it? I assume it was probably the same route as they did with the press launch back in 2020? Were they all 110s and were they decently specced cars?

I did the Namibia adventure last year, and it was awesome. You can find the route on their website. The vehicles were like new 110 P300 diesels and fully specced with all kind of options and decked out with the racks, ladders, side boxes and winches. I will post pictures of the vehicles soon.

Is JLR known for region specific unlisted alterations, like some other European manufacturers? You can only find them if you go through the build list with a fine comb and know the feature codes, case in point: Mercedes sold to Middle East without heaters, BMW sold in South of US and possibly Middle East as well with oversized A/C coils.

20" wheels with the Duratrac tires. The tires held up pretty good and we were in some very rocky and steep terrain at times. The group I was with experienced only one tire puncture over the rocks which is pretty amazing.
Wow, thanks for sharing the pictures. Looks like an incredible time! I love how LR does these travel experiences. Porsche now also offers an off-road travel experience in Namibia. It isn't as extreme as the LR Experience, but you get to drive Cayennes an 911 Dakars in the desert.
I wonder how this will work out in Southwest US, where 130F seems to be the new summer norm (not to mention 160F+ surface temperature).
