Default Feedback/Photos Voyager Rack

I’m looking for a roof rack for my 2020 Defender and was wondering if anyone who currently has the Voyager rack could share their opinions and images. Specifically, how is the wind noise? What are you using to access it (LR Ladder, Lucky8 Ladder, etc.?). Thanks in advance!

Just checking back in to see if anyone has installed a Voyager rack (on the new Defender) and if they have pictures/thoughts on it. Thanks in advance.

the roof rack definitely adds wind noise. a lot of it. i dont mind it as much but if your looking for a quiet cabin, id advise that you dont get it.

the roof rack has a front flap that doesnt act as an aerodynamic wind deflector, instead almost performs like it creates more drag and wind noise.

all in all, its a great roof rack but you have to be willing to put up with noticeable wind noise.

i use the oem roof ladder which is so well engineered and designed.

I have one on order, but there is an option for a full width fairing. I plan on getting it since I’m not going to mount lights. The fairing should quiet it down nicely and should be much more quiet than the frontrunner or oem racks.

For the Voyager? I just got mine dropped off from FedEx today.

Yes, just call them and ask about the full fairing.

BTW, any chance you could do me a favor. I’ve been trying to get measurements off of them and they haven’t responded. Trying to figure out how a ski rack would work and need a couple of simple measurements. If it’s not too much trouble, could you measure from the front of the rack to the first cross tube, and then from that tube to the next one, and from there to the third cross tube? Doesn’t have to be exact. Just looking for rough numbers.

Also, do you have to undo any of the roof rail mounting bolts to mount the voyager; or does it use the t slots in the rails? I’m hoping to avoid the fiasco with the spinning bolts that some are seeing when trying to mount the longer frontrunner.

Go check out the new upTOP Overland rack I just posted for mine. Adds another option for defenders now. It was finished today and they’ll have it on their site in a couple weeks.

Thanks. Saw your original post. It’s a little too robust looking for my tastes but I love that others are putting options out there. Just installed the Voyager today and I like it. It needs a wind deflector for sure.
