Default Few strange things with new Defender

Hi everyone,

I have noticed a few things on my new 2020 Defender First Edition

1.- I don’t seem to get the easy access (lower suspension) to work. Anyone else with this problem?

2. I am also unable to get the tilt away steering wheel and lowering of the seat to work.

3. Lastly, my passenger side, second row floor mat (rubber floor mats) does not align correctly. Almost as if the floor mat was for a different vehicle. Anyone else experiencing this?

I will be at the dealer in the next couple of weeks and will ask them to look into this - I imagine there is an answer, but wanted to check with everyone else.

I have a silver 2020 First Edition with 22” tires (love these) and 3rd row (though I needed/wanted it) but seems hardly usable.

thank you all and happy motoring on your defenders. So far so good in mine - really like it.

any questions let me know.

No answers here - still pondering purchase.

But, for the steering in past LR4’s there was a switch for auto, turning of the small ****, left on mid point of steering column. Just a guess for the defender location...

I’m on my 4th LR/3/4 the biggest thing for me is rear hatch....

Best of luck, I’m sure it will get squared away.

In the manual, they discuss certain times the access height will not work. You might want to read it as you may be doing something that cancels the access height adjustment.

does it automatically adjust to access height after turning off the engine? It remains in normal height after turning it off.

You need to enable that option in the "All - Vehicle - Convenience - Vehicle Access" settings menu. Engine must be turned off, seat belt unbuckled and door opened, it lowers about 1.5" total. The option was turned on when I picked up the car from the dealer, but that doesn't mean every car is. Also, I believe that feature only works in Comfort and ECO modes, it is disabled in any other TR mode or in Low Range.

Default Updates based on feedback

Thank you everyone for the comments and recommendations. I cycled the ‘Auto’ button under the steering wheel and the seat and steering wheel now move after I turn the ignition off and open the door.

For the suspension, I modified (turned off and back on) the setting for allowing the easier access and it now works as well.

I guess it was all - user error?

again, thank you everyone for the help/comments.

I wondered why my steering wheel and seat did not move back when I exited. Saw the switch on steering wheel and it was off so tuned to auto. Now on exiting the steering wheel goes up and the seat moves down but does not move back which I thought it should. The suspension was set on at the dealership and it has always worked. Wonder about that seat moving back though.

Per iGuide:

ENTRY AND EXIT MODE

With the steering column control in the AUTO position, the steering column and driver’s seat move to provide easier entry and exit from the vehicle.

On opening the driver’s door, the system raises the steering column to the highest position. The system lowers the driver’s seat to a lower position, assisting with exit from the vehicle. When the driver’s door is closed and the ignition is switched on, the system returns the driver’s seat and steering column to the previous position.

Thanks umbertob, that explains it. On our other vehicles the seat also goes back and it is a nice feature.
