I finally bought an Octa.
First thank you to all the members here for patiently answering my questions. Yes, it does fit in my garage and this thing exceeds my expectations.
Just a quick background on how I got here.
Many fun cars along the way, most recently a 2018 Carrera T and a 2020 GT4, both now sold. It was too much of a pain to drive them in Northern Virginia, at least with the Octa it is an everyday driver. We are also keeping our 2017 4Runner with 30,000 miles, it will outlast me.

My local SA went above and beyond looking for this exact spec, and it is just what we would have exactly ordered.

Sargasso Blue with the Light Cloud/l Lunar interior and 20 inch wheels.

We’ve only put 250 miles on it, and is now getting full PPF, so I’ll give a more detailed review once it’s reached it’s break-in mileage.

So far, it’s been everything we were expecting. The interior really has a great fit and finish and many premium touches. The exterior is very well proportioned, no one really knows exactly what this vehicle is.
The performance is exactly what reviewers and owners have said, no surprise there.
One quick review are the side steps. The side steps do detract a little from the clean lines of the Octa, but are a necessity in our case.
My wife and mother in law, both in the 5'3" range use them all the time.
For me. I'm 6'4" and I use them. It allows me to get higher than the seat and get in vs rolling in and out of the seat. Hopefully, it' will prevent the creasing on the side bolster.

No matte, on a blue, how the heck is that going to be found ? I would just order if I were you. Otherwise you'll end up with fixed or auto side steps or none, 3 chances to not get your preference. I have never even seen a non-matte blue one but I guess they're out there. I think the Burnt Sienna would be very nice in a blue one but I love how my Charente is super golden warm in late sunlight or deep dark earth-grey tones in the rain.

 

There are a lot more Octas sitting on lots than you might think. A few dealers have ten plus in stock and incoming.
Right now, there are about about 8 to 10 Sargasso over Black, no PPF, no steps in the Northeast. One store has three of them.

We test drove a Borasco over Burnt Sienna. That interior is very nice.

Welcome to the club mate. You’ll really enjoy it, and the best part is that they get better with time. After about 10,000 kms, for whatever reason, the engine has become much more ‘loose’ and makes some fantastic crackling noises when downshifting in manual mode. I think it’s just because the components are physically run in - nothing to do with electronics or anything.

I sold a 24 911GTS for the Octa as like you, I got sick of crappy roads and having to dodge every road imperfection or damage wheels, front spoiler…or rattle my fillings out…..maybe I am just getting old.

Great color too (I am biased as mine is Sargasso but with the black interior). I also had mine PPF’d with STEK DYNOshield as I didn’t want to hide the pop of the metallic paint and I am very pleased how it turned out and how easy it is to look after. A totally personal choice but I was never a fan of the bronzed hood decal, which will have to be removed anyway if you are PPF’ing the hood and I decided to leave the car debadged, which I really like (my wife prefers the badged look though). Here is a pic to show you how it looks now.
