These went on really easily and everything works great! DEFINITELY use masking tape around the outlets before you pop the buttons out or you will scratch the area up pretty badly. They are on super tight, you honestly feel like you are going to break them before they pop out, but they do. You will need to pry on the left and right sides of each outlet. Once that is done, connect the loom and feed the other end through the missing outlet and connect whatever new charging outlet you want. Test everything, then pop the outlets back in, and good to go! it took me about 45 minutes to do and I was being extremely careful. If anyone is on the fence, I definitely recommend it. I am glad PowerfulUK is fixing the Land Rover mess. Now I just need my sunglass holder that was deleted...
Has anyone found a source for the Y splitter loom other than PowerfulUK? A source in the USA would be great.
That would be nice. I always add a plethora of goodies to my cart from PowerfulUK, and have purchased plenty in the past, but these added "overseas" charges to the USA + already higher shipping costs always steer me back away.
On another note, had a less than positive dealer experience at another Ohio dealer (surprise I know) on getting my USBs installed as part of the recall campaign. Upon review my service docs, they tried to bill JLR corporate for (3) USB-Cs, but only installed 2 (in passenger dash and a single USB of the four blanks) in my 110 X. There was no intention of installing the 3rd. Seems like a case of laziness and being deceitful if you ask me.
At one point I was told that "my vehicle isn't wired for more than one on the back." Knowing better and getting a bit fed up of the BS, I decided to get out my toolbag and work on the Defender at the dealer myself. The service manager and team learned first hand from my demonstration that there is indeed a second wrapped up plug/wire to accept my "missing" USB-C. But to be fair, I bet they already knew that. I ended up demanding my billed part to be relinquished to me, which I took home in a fresh box and installed it myself in 15 minutes of garage time. If you something done right, just do it yourself I guess. Gotta love the JLR way of making their customers feel appreciated, right?
I need to do this as well. I have two blanks on the outside ports. I want USB C but need to purchase them. I have a 24 V8 90 that I thought was supposed to come loaded. How do I figure out if the dealer owes me these two USB C ports or if i need to buy them myself?
If your defender came with none in the rear seats position then you are part of the campaign to get two installed. If your defender came with two already installed then you are good to go. More than two and it’s on your dime. Will also need the splitter as mentioned above.

My 24 Defender came with 2 blanks and 2 USB-A ports in the rear. Over the weekend I popped out out both USBs to verify the connectors work with PowerfulUK's splitter looms. I used 2 interior trim tools from harbor freight to get underneathe the outlets. As mentioned it is a pain to pop them out and difficult not to marr the plastic applying the force needed to get them out. I placed blue painters tape around the outlets to keep marring at a minimum and any visible marring is covered by the outlets once installed.
On Saturdaiy I placed the order with PowerfulUK for the splitter looms and 2 USB-C sockets. Package shipped today (Monday) DHL Express with an estimated delivery this Thursday. Quick!
Yes the shipping was relatively expensive but thankfully to offset this cost the USB-C sockets are reasonably priced at 54 British Pounds. I was finding them online around $100 USD plus shipping from US dealers.
I was able to get the USBC sockets for £30ish from eBay (brand new genuine), and the splitter from PowerfulUK. Make sure to look everywhere before ordering!
