First (apparently) V8 Sold In USA at LR Austin
Just swung by LRA and was shocked to see a V8 sitting on the showroom floor. I was even more shocked to see what they sold it for...... Any guesses? Also if you're in Austin I think it will be there tomorrow too if you want to check it out. Pretty amazing in the flesh.
OK going to dinner.... sold for 194k

I am looking forward to hearing owner's impressions. I cannot recall anyone yet on the forum sharing this.
This car and driver review I think is an incomplete substitute: https://www.caranddriver.com/reviews...der-v-8-drive/
Enjoy !

Ya its the complete opposite of what I use my Defender for but it was pretty. Very racy feeling with the suede wheel and interior bits and the murdered out look with the blue calibers is nice.
As it was a V8 with blue calipers, was this the 007 Edition by chance?
All the bad-guy V8's get out-performed and run into the ditch by an old Bond-driven Toyota. The only Land Rover Bond does drive is an old Series LR. One Bond mentions has constant engine troubles.
Yea, that really pissed me off too - he always has a cool car, this time it was lame, and beat LRs.
We need to add another vehicle to the family motor pool once the kids come back from college in May. (We sold my wife's LR4 and she's now driving their Passport while they are away) I've been trying to justify buying an X5 M50i for $90K instead of a regular X5 4.0 for $75K. Looking at the Defender V8 prices above, suddenly that 523 HP X5 M50i with the V8 looks like a bargain. Funny part is that same BMW V8 engine will eventually be in the Defender now that JLR is switching to BMW V8 engines. New Range Rover is already available with the BMW V8.
