The map in my instrument cluster was flickering today. Seemed to work fine during a call or when changes to the dash were happening.
during normal driving the flashing of the screen was very distracting.
first time since owning for 2 weeks now

ideas?

 

Bring it to the dealer if it continues to do it. I would let them fix it.

 

Nonsense. It’s an $80,000 Defender made by JLR, must be a hallucination.

 

Narrowed it down a bit. Seems to happen when making a call. Seems like apply car play is interfering with the map between the two dials.
Doesn't happen with a full screen map or single dial. Just the 2 dial with a map setup.

I had a similar issue with flickering and new iOS. Very annoying. Try this: disconnect CarPlay. With engine on, hold the radio power button down for 20 seconds and let Pivi do a soft reset. Reconnect CarPlay. If that doesn’t work you can also try a hard reset. Disconnect CarPlay. Hold the radio power button for 10 seconds, once Pivi goes blank turn off car and lock doors. Let the Defender sit for 5 minutes. Start engine and reconnect CarPlay. This should be addressed in future OTA.

 

Had my 2021 Defender 5 days and map flicker started w/ phone plugged in. Great start.

 

I had the same issue but found a better quality phone cable fixed the issue

 

Dealer told me to use the Apple cord b/c they are made for data transfer. I did use it - the new Apple USB C cord. Still flickering. Going to try the reset suggested above

 

Lock the car overnight with the Fob, it will take care of the problem for a while then, repeat as needed!

 

I’ve got the same issue...seems to happen when changing tracks on apple car play.
