Thanks! Wow, I thought they would be down under near the wheels and you had to pull off all that trim & felt down there. You were LUCKY that it was that convenient. Thanks for helping me look in the future if I need it. Great post!
Sorry for the bad luck, only held in by friction is disappointing, not what I expected for a part like that, ugh... love your channel though! Been watching since last winter I believe. You were the first review I ever saw posted of the base model at that time.
I had that issue too. There is a technical service bulletin, only UK right now, that discusses the fact that early air springs had a small leak due to a fitting. I showed it to my US dealer and they were unaware or acted unaware. I pushed back and they replaced my front air springs and no issues since.
Any chance you have the TSB or link. My X series is in the shop with the same issue. Replacing the air blocks in the front but want to make sure they are looking at this. It has taken the dealer a week to get this far to find out why the front lowers an inch overnight. Initially they thought it was normal
I am suspecting my defender may have a leak in the air suspension. Every time i start it up, i hear a whoosh of air and the car rises a little bit. (I do not have it set in access mode in park) I am thinking that some air leaks out when it is turned off and it re-levels itself when turned on.
Does this happen to others?
Started happening to mine recently (about 7k miles). At first it was just the front end slightly lower after being parked overnight in normal height mode. Now the front actually raises up when I start the car. It’s at the dealer right now. Will let you know what they say.
Just wanted to say that your videos of the "lowly spec" Defender finally got me to order a P300 a few months ago - should be coming in January 2021...albeit on coils. As much as I'm an ideal candidate for air suspension (towing a small boat once a week, lowering for vertically challenged passengers/pets, extra height when things get rough)...I'm tired of crawling under my Land Rover with soapy water to figure out what's leaking.
On my L320 RRS, getting the dreaded yellow or red suspension failure light while roughing it on the trail is the absolute worst - especially because I lose Terrain Response which makes getting off the trail a real PITA. Sometimes I can clear the code and forge on...but it's not a guarantee. The first few years of air suspension on the L320 were relatively trouble free - but after a few years, it was one thing after another: personally rebuilt 2 valve blocks, refurbed the Hitachi compressor, replaced 2 leaky front springs, replaced 2 height sensors, replaced the compressor (faulty new one), replaced 2 rear air springs (blown shocks), replaced the compressor again. It's been relatively reliable for the past 2 years or so, but I'm done with air. I was done with air after my Disco II, but gave it one more chance on the RRS. I've had to pull my compressor so many friggin times, that I can do it in 15 minutes flat now.
Hi everyone,
I would like to ask this question, I park the car for a day and a night, when I use it, I don't see any lowering of the ride, but I hear the suspension compressor starting for a few minutes.
However, when I park it for three days, when I turn it on, I notice that it raises the front suspension by 2 cm.
Do you think this is normal? or it loses air.
