Default Front Window Tint

Does anyone have pictures of tinted front windows on their Defender? I have a 90 with a black interior and want to get the front windows tinted, but am unsure what percentage to get. I'd like to match the back windows, but I'm thinking that may be too dark for night driving.

Hi, yes. I asked the tint shop to match the rear. Definitely harder to see at night. Depends on individual pref & strength of your night vision. I don't feel it's a problem for me, but I might go one shade lighter if I had it to do over.

This shows the diff from untinted front.

If you’re in the US and need to pass annual inspection, might want to check on your state’s limits. Most states restrict the amount of front window tint, and some areas are more lenient than others when it comes to enforcement.

@Jolly Rancher Thanks for the info and pictures, nice looking 110. I think I'm going to go slightly lighter than the back.

I have a silicone silver X with full black interior that I had tinted with ceramic tint and I have no problem with visual through any of the windows at night. All of my windows were tinted including the sunroof, albeit the front two windows have a slightly lighter tint for legal purposes.

I just had mine tinted today with F1 Pinnacle 40% to remain legal here in North Carolina. Looks really good and although lighter than the back windows...its the best I can do here...and unless really looking for the difference you won’t see much.

Eiger Gray with 28%, matching the rear factory. Not really legal in my state, but I never had a issue at this level. Previous vehicle was same. It was only when I had a black Tahoe did I push it with approx 10% all around- this led to a ticket.

In some states, having full tint almost guarantees you’ll have a gun pulled in your face for a simple traffic stop. Cops hate full tint, and you would too if you had to pull people over in a country with more guns than people. It also sucks for other people trying to see if you see them, like pedestrians, bikers, and other drivers at 4 way intersections. There are really good reasons for tint laws. I wish they would enforce them more. I almost got flattened by an idiot who wasn’t looking at an intersection but I couldn’t see that he was looking away because of his stupid tint. Obviously I hate the stuff.

Tart- sounds like you or your states drivers don’t know how to follow traffic laws. If I am pulled over for ANY reason in ANY vehicle that I own, the first thing I do is turn on the interior lights and place my hands on the wheel. A LFE who feels comfortable with the driver who is immediately complying shall not have the need to draw his weapon. This isn’t the Wild West.
Also, as an avid biker, I can see into every front window and can tell you that almost every driver regardless of age, sex, race or shoe size is most likely on their phone and they don’t see you. So act like they don’t see you regardless of whether there is a tint when you are walking, biking, etc. Unfortunately that is the state of modern drivers.
