Default Garage mode etc

Does anyone know how to turn off the mirrors folding when you park and lock? I'd rather have my mirrors open (overnight especially). I continue to have problems with the mirrors getting iced overnight during winter storms to the point where they are unable to open in the morning so I'm forced to pick and chop the ice away which today for the first time has resulted in some minor scuffing / scratches on gloss black of the mirror mount. I looked in the manual and didn't see any mention of how to adjust this mode which I believe they called garage mode. There was also a mention of an option called mirror dip, which said go to a certain area of the settings / options menu where I did not see the option at all in my pivi pro. So maybe I'm missing some options? Not sure what's up with that.

Here is where to find the Mirror Dip settings.MIRROR DIP WHEN REVERSING

Mirror dip can be enabled or disabled via the Vehicle settings menu.

To access the Mirror Dip on Reverse settings:
  1. Touch the settings icon¹ from any screen.
  2. Touch the ALL soft key.
  3. Touch Vehicle.
  4. Touch Convenience.
  5. Touch Mirrors.
  6. Mirror Dip on Reverse: Toggle on or off.
  7. Touch the exit icon², after selection, to return to the previously displayed screen.
Selecting Reverse (R) causes the door mirrors to automatically adjust, providing an improved viewing angle for reversing.

The dipped position of the door mirrors is a preset position. In R, the door mirrors can be adjusted and the new position can be saved.

That's a land rover signature-folding side mirrors.

Reread it. He mentioned reading about mirror dip, but did not know where to find it.

Your local retailer (or a well equipped LR specialist) should be able to disable the mirror fold function through their diagnostics equipment. However, once it's done you would need to return to the retailer to undo this modification.

The easiest solution is to simply use snow and ice mirror covers from a company of your choice. See example below:

Much appreciated but I don't have that option. I have to assume I either lost it in an update or there are certain trim levels or various options that make it available. When I follow those instructions under Convenience I have Windows, Vehicle Access and Wipers. Nothing with mirrors. I have a 2022 90 p300-S trim. fwiw.

Thank you for the information and suggestions. If I do have it disabled does it disable it for just auto-fold but still allow manual? I'd still like to be able to control it manually using the press of both buttons. I sometimes manually fold them using that method when going through the car wash. There are many options that can be toggled on and off in pivi pro, I'm not sure why this can't be too. Maybe someday. I'm not going to hang covers over them on a regular basis, it's very difficult to tell when we're going to get substantial icing like that and hanging covers over it every night just seems like overkill for something that IMO should definitely be able to toggle on and off. Audi has kept manual switches for mirror heaters and mirror folding etc and IMO that is the way to go. Automatic is good in theory and many times in practice but there are those scenarios where it becomes a short-coming especially when there's no easy opt-out.

Seriously? You have to have the dealership do this? I'm pretty sure this feature has been something the owner can turn on and off in every vehicle (granted none have been JLR, either bmw or audi) I've owned in the past 15 years.
