Has anyone used GAP iiD To enable in-car wifi?
Thanks for the info. Much appreciated.
I got mine from Lucky 8. Got to me pretty quick and they have great customer service.
Also, quick question if anyone knows. I dont have $thousands to buy the pro version of the GAP iiD. I'm looking at the same $580~ model that I think most of you have.
I know that I essentially lock it to this car to be able to use it. But when I'm done/sold the car years from now, is it possible to 'unmarry it /divorce it' to be able to resell it? Or is it forever locked to this vehicle in particular?
Not a deal breaker, but makes it a bit more palatable to pay the price if I know I can get 50% back on it some day.
Only the advanced programming functions are VIN locked. The full diagnostic capability is VIN lock free making the IIDTool one of the most powerful diagnostic systems for Land Rover. And that includes OEM diagnostics and any other (very expensive) aftermarket diagnostic system for professional use.
There are additional VIN licenses available, though the regular IIDTool BT is only capable of taking 5 or so additional licenses (hardware limitation vs IIDTool Pro). This is in case you own multiple Land Rovers. There is no need for an end-user to buy a Pro unit.
You can also transfer ownership of the IIDTool if you sell it or the vehicle. Info is in the shop: https://www.gap-diagnostic.com/shop/

Hey there @_Allegedly just curious if you've made any progress on this one?
I have activated the tailgate open via the key fob option and it works with a soft close door. When it opens it releases completing from the latch so does not close again. This is on a 2020
Nice! Can you share the codes that you used?
