Default Heated windshield backordered

I’ve had the brand new Defender less than two weeks and already a small stone chip spidered a day after the strike. JLR indicates back order with no ETA. Sounds like it could be months. I asked if I could get a non-heated replacement instead. I don’t really like looking through all the little lines. They refused saying that the non-heated version is incompatible with my vehicle. Hard to imagine. OK, the button won’t work.

Any ideas on how to source a replacement?

I’ve had horrible experience with them but may need to consider if the crack becomes extreme.

I have as well. 2 times I had them do my windshield and each time was a disaster - I currently have a windshield not fully sealed and you can hear the wind after 70mph, and they didn’t calibrate it right so the wipers are never at the right speed.

I had them replace one in my last V8 and had no issues. I did take it to a service center instead of them coming to me.

Dang, I had hoped the filaments in the heated windshield would give it additional strength. I guess I’ll just cross my fingers and hope this doesn’t happen frequently.

I think it is the angle of the windshield that is the issue not how it’s made. Doesn’t mean I am right but that is what I “think”.
