Anyone have a picture of a Carpathian Gray defender with the bonnet decal installed? I cant decide if darker color defenders just washout the bonnet decal flat black color or not.

I'm planning a flat black decal over my gloss black hood paint. The ones I'm looking at aren't from JLR, but use 3M film which have the comply adhesive which makes repositioning and smoothing bubbles easier. I think it'll be a nice subtle look that most won't notice until they are standing up close.

I can post an Eiger pic which may help a little but not Carpathian unfortunately.

Hmmm... Mine is not a Carpathian Edition,
but is Carpathian Grey (not wrapped). I have zero glare off the hood.

I drove a Fuji white D90 and it has a lot of glare. Remember Carpathian Grey is what GM calls "Storm Grey", a very dark grey compared to Eiger.

Did a self-install and had no problems. I did a wet install using a small sprayer bottle and water with a couple drops of soap added. Although I will say I had a second person helping and would highly recommend having another set of hands present. Makes the job much less frustrating. Also, take your time, be patient and don’t try to rush it.

That’s the thing I like about the decal on my black hood. It’s very subtle

Also for the install, my friend and I did it and the even though we taped it down a lot to ensure it wouldn’t budge when peeling up the first half… it was very handy to have the second person to help hold it while squeegeeing it down

If you are determined to DIY and are a novice at vinyl application you really can’t go wrong with the product from Powerful UK. Theirs is a wet application and there’s no such thing as too much soapy water (three drops of soap per spray bottle). A helper (holder) and the fold-over method (don’t crease the vinyl) ala LR is also highly recommended.
IMHO Their longer version is the more estheticly pleasing EXCEPT they could have made the cut-out deeper to put the numbers up on the flat of the hood like the genuine part.
