Just shy of 80000 miles, and battery is testing healthy.

multimeter test shows all good.

Unfortunately, no two batteries are alike. My original was replaced 2 1/2 years after delivery under warranty, and I just put the third one in 1 1/2 years after that. Yet a previous Volvo I owned went 14 years on the original.

I have a 2021 P300, 92k miles and battery is very healthy. I had the mechanic check it at the 90k service and said would be wasting money if I replaced it.

Do you know about the Land Rover gathering they have there in March/April? Its a massive event, and there is great trails in the area, along with getting to take the Defender out on the beach!
I live about 10 minutes from Old Seagrove, there is only 1 shop in that area(luckily its in Santa Rosa beach too) willing to touch a Defender btw - unless I take it to Mobile dealership.

2022 - on the original battery with 50k on the odometer.

Car is driven about 30 miles every single day.

I think I should keep it on a tender to keep my battery charged and fresh. It has a black Vue 2channel dash cam that might be draining it unnecessarily.

I have numerous problems with mine especially when the weather turns cold but sticking it on trickle charge for a day or two usually sorts it out for a while. I went a whole 2 months once without it getting upset, it's really only an issue when software updates are ready as you can full charge, apply update and it just fails due to charge again so what I do now is full charge it, take the charger off for 10 minutes, put it on again and when the charge shows full a second time I let the update run with the charger there.

If I buy a new one it's just going to do the same thing after a year anyway so may aswell get all the useful life out of the original.

Ours lasted about 5 years though we went at least 6 months without a software update. Never had any issues with the battery starting the car, just over the air software updates. When I finally took it to the dealer, they said the cold cranking amps were too low, I think around 550 is what he said. They replaced the battery for around $880 after tax which is ridiculous but the battery is under the passenger seat which makes it a bit of a pain in the *** for me to try and change.
