Default I知 looking for the cheapest white 110 in the USA...

I知 keeping my Trek, but wife wants me to sell her L405 for another white Defender.

I知 thinking Co-part, because even base p300 110s are going for 67-75k, where you could order them for 50k in 2020.

maybe order another out of state 110 and wait 9 months.

all the California dealerships are charging 10-30k over sticker.

Copart would likely be the cheapest, but that will depend on the parts needed to make it drivable and your "hourly rate" for the time to fix it. I think many of them are totalled and can be fixed relatively easily. But then you will have to shop the parts and do the repairs. I'm WILDLY confident you have the mad skills. Just that the repairs are a wild card. You can always flip it or part it out if it looks to pricey once you get it. I think that's what the Goonzquad does.

OK, Copart is definitely NOT eye candy. Those poor damaged Defenders...

This sounds like a TFL Vid channel.

On a more serious note, wait 3-4 months the markups will seize. Production will pick up.

I sure do hope you are right, @maxmk8 . If it does, I'd like to put in an order later in the year for the "perfect" 2024 now that I've had one for a while. Sadly, I'm in the transportation industry and we aren't forecasting widespread vehicle availability until into 2023. However, that all depends on the inflation rate. If it goes up as much as some models predict, then the softening consumer purchasing could cause a lessened demand and more product availability. So, either thru Consumer optimism or production schedules, I'm not as optimistic re: that horizon. But I'm putting my wishes on your forecast!

Go to inventory.landroverusa.com to view all possible available LR's (search within 'any' for distance), then select Defender for model, then click search. Might help.

I'm hearing that it will be first half of 2024 before supply chain and chip issues are back to normal. It's not my area of expertise so I ma just passing on what I've been told.

I wouldn't expect anything at all will change in 3-4 months

Yea I honestly don't see it anytime soon either and inflation may even start to elevate prices that are already holding or rising even on preowned. The factories are built to achieve a certain output, that output was delayed and formed a large backlog. Now the only way to actually catch-up is to not only meet but to exceed previous production level for an extended period of time. Some links in the supply chains aren't even built to achieve those levels of production at peak. I suspect they'll only be able to nibble away at that massive backlog for a long time. There's a ton of pent-up demand at the moment, that's going to carry well into next year IMO.

Things are not going to get better this year. Period. The chip supply in the short-term is not increasing due to a number of issues. JLR is focused on top spec Defenders to keep profits manageable with low volumes. Very hard to get what you want right now....

However...Order books for Defender P300 will re-open tomorrow (Feb 10th) for a short period of time. Reach out to a retailer who will listen and place an order and wait. Don't choose any accessories, choose the S trim and try to keep the price over $60K USD. Wait 6-7 months and get ready for a call.

Good luck!

I've contacted 10+ California dealerships and they all want 10k to 30k markup. I also requested about factory build and same thing, they want minimum 10k markup.
Is there any southern California dealership that would accept factory order at MSRP? If so, I am willing to visit and order one today. I can wait 6-10 months no problem but 10k-30k markup is just ridiculous.
I sent some complaint emails to Land Rover Headquarter. Hopefully they will ban those dealership markups like FORD.
