Default I'm tired of waiting and I'm out. New stuff for sale

A number of us have our own saga when it comes to the ordering/waiting/delays/mistakes with our new Defender orders. After ordering a 110X back in February and taking delivery in June of what ended up to be close to, but not my exact order (a 110X Dynamic, not 110X) I re-ordered the 110X and I've been waiting, and waiting, and waiting. Build dates keep changing and the lack of communication from the dealership (been through 2 sales people and 1 sales manager who all have left), and with the new Jeep Grand Cherokee being launched and completely re-designed, I've put in an order for a "Summit Reserve" that has as much tech, luxury and capabilities as the Defender 110 at over $20k less...

But of course in my anticipation of the 110X, I bought a few things in advance:
A full set of Lloyds Berber mats - front, 2nd row and cargo area. Still in box. Listed on the marketplace on the forum
A OEM front under shield/tow - yet to post, but new in box.

So someone will find a good deal on some new in the box goodies.

Scott

Interesting alternative. Jeeps are decent. Did you go with the 5.7?

I went with the 5.7 V8 - it's not the most advanced engine, but I've got the 3.6 V6 Pentastar engine in my JKU which works in a rock crawler due to gearing, but even when it was rolling on stock axles, wheels and tires, it was only marginally powerful enough in my opinion.
The Grand Cherokee certainly doesn't have the cachet of an import, the styling isn't as cool as the Defender, but towing is 7,200 lbs, air ride suspension with over 11" of ground clearance, more infotainment tech, better stereo, better seating, better interface (Uconnect 5) No tire hanging off the back (although departure angle isn't as good) and the top of the line Summit Reserve with every option is $71k whereas my 110X was coming in at just shy of $100k There's only so much I'm willing to pay for a cool import.

Mostly size - While I like the Wagoneer, it is just more vehicle than I need. It's just me, my wife and a 100 pound Labrador. The Wagoneer is more comparable to an Escallade or Navigator - no doubt a nice whip on the road with lots of space if you have a crew to haul.
I also want to do some light off-roading and the GC is a bit better in that regard - smaller, lighter, more capable. I'll get a set of 18" wheels and off road tires to temporarily swap when I plan to go off roading as the Summit Reserve comes with 275/45/21's

Good choice. My wife had a 2011 WK2 Overland (first year) with 5.7 till 2017; that was the top trim level when we got it, and had air suspension and the most advanced off-road capability. Which I never once used, since I had a Wrangler the whole time. But I often thought it would make a nice overlander (especially given the name, ) if you didn’t need a ton of space and you were okay with scratching it up.

It served us well, and was much more trouble-free than my JK Wrangler. Eventually it got 80k miles and we were just tired and ready for something new, but it was still going strong when we traded.

Well, my 110 X just landed at the dealership. Needless to say when the store manager called and I told him I went a different direction, he was giddy as he wouldn't have to sell it to me at the $97k MSRP but add a "market adjustment" (which is not reflected on the website, but on an additional sign on the vehicle itself)

So if anyone is looking for a nicely appointed 110 X
Here it is:
