He's done lots of upgrades no issues. You only need an active subscription if you're doing updates and tsb's to the car/modules etc.
I suggested the battery tender. The person who was to do the programming said no good. He said I needed a subscription. Very frustrating. Wish there was someone on the East coat for this.

I know who you're working with. Understood. Start bribing service advisors....trust me it pays off. I invested in 1,000 in bribes and got 15,000 in free work goodwill after warranty expired on an older Range Rover with 101,000 miles on it....just saying. It's nerve wracking and I've been rejected and it's awkward but, once you get in with one, you are golden! I call it "Forum shopping " like ambulance chasing attys do! Lol.

Wow It might come to that! Thank you. Or maybe JLR can get their heads out of their behinds and just sell us OTA updates or dealer option activation? Probably not as that would be too easy and convenient for the people who buy their vehicles.

Newb question here.., Just what can we change on these Defenders? Being able to just toggle on the adaptive cruise sounds intriguing.

But I mainly want to figure out how to add cooled seats to a D110S.

This is the way I understand it - it could be completely wrong - there are some features that all defenders come from the factory with the hardware/modules for but they aren’t active or turned “on” unless you purchased/checked off the options at build.

There are people out there who know how to “program” and turn on/activate these features using JLR pathfinder and Doip diagnostic tools. Examples of are adaptive cruise control (all defenders have the steering wheel buttons and radar sensors for it) wade sensing, terrain response 2, configurable terrain response, all terrain progress control, the tow package assistance options (you need the hitch if yours doesn’t have it) some options need hardware installed and programming done - full tow package, rear e-diff, and I’d imagine things like you mentioned cooled seats, you need to check to see if the seats are different between the cooled and non-cooled. Maybe all the seats have cooling in them but they aren’t active if you don’t pay for the option at build.

This also could have all changed at any point in production or model year change over - that being JLR could stop putting in the hardware/modules in all the cars for these features. But most 2020 and 2021 can be programmed to turn on these features.

I wonder if this would work (or even if it worked if I'd be able to figure out how to change things):

Did anyone get Adaptive Cruise activated in the US? It seems like it has been done in the UK.

Yes in California. 4 different rovers activated adaptive cruise thru LR Retrofits. All 2020 defenders have it Hardware and software baked into the vehicle it just needs to be activated.

ok thanks - did anyone confirm the 2022’s have all the necessary hardware? Does it work well for you and did you end up having a dealer help?

I am in VA so Cali is a bit far so hopefully someone on east coast has done it.

Idk I don’t think 2022s have it but maybe because it’s tied to other systems. Get a 20 side by side and compare hardware.
