Default Insurance for Defender

I should be taking delivery of my 90 in mid June.

When it comes to insuring it, what coverages should I make sure that I have? What glass coverage to you recommend?

I’m based in New York.

Thanks

Definitely get glass coverage. You will more than likely need it.

Glass coverage is a must, like others have mentioned. The upright windshields make them prone to chipping/cracking.

Sounds like a job for your Insurance Agent.

I wouldn’t expect them to know what’s best for a Defender owner.

But my agent confirmed zero deductible glass full replacement coverage.

Then it’s time to find a new insurance agent. I would rather rely on someone who does it for a living, than any armchair/keyboard expert. Suggestions here are a great starting point, but since regulations vary by state, the advice offered on a forum may not always be accurate. Hey, he confirmed ‘zero deductible’ on glass. Thats the rule in Florida. My previous state of residence I had to pay for coverage, and even then it had a large deductible. Any insurance agent should be working in your best interests, if not, then he’s not doing his job and it’s time to shop for a new underwriter.

I’m perfectly happy with my agent.

I asked a simple question here and received helpful information from some people. I then asked my agent similar questions without leading them. I then triangulated the information to make my own decision.

I'm on my 6th window with 60k miles - luckily Florida has a law of unlimited windshield replacements with no cost -
They are so common that my windshield was even backordered for 7 months last year

I would stick with my agent if you are happy with him, plus you have a zero deductible on glass replacement. Stick with your current policy and agent.
