Default Interested in Defender 110 - Savagegeese complained of road noise

Hi Ya'll,

I'm interested in the new Defender 110 (and more so the PHEV if it ever comes to the US), but one thing I'm curious about is the complaint about noise in the car, which I absolutely can't stand in an SUV or comfortable daily driver/road trip car.

17:33 -

Can anyone use their Apple Watch's noise/sound level meter to measure how loud the car is during low speed and high speeds?
For reference, my Supra is about 67-75db on the highway (which is too loud for long trips).

Thanks!

Tyres and tyre wear are/is probably the single largest variable. You'd need to consider that to get a full appreciation of the question and any answers that may come back.

Also not ordering the roof rack will make a huge difference

The 110 is a very quiet vehicle, comparable with many mainstream luxury SUVs in my experience, with no expedition rack / other accessories. I primarily hear wind noise vs road/tire noise (I have stock Goodyear AT Adventures), which is a different sound (not louder) than these other vehicles. Wind noise is simply a function of the upright windshield, boxy shape, huge square mirrors. You need to test drive it to see if it bothers you.

I got to drive the 110 x finally on a longer trip. The wind noise is normal by its design. Otherwise it was a quiet trip.

I have one and I notice some noise but its from the front runner rack. prior to the rack, it was super quiet. I also chose not to have the sunroof which helps deaden the noise.

Mine is stock with the stock off-road tires and my watch was reading between 62-65 decibels at 70mph with the cruise on.

Excellent, just what I was looking for! That is pretty quiet. I guess the Roof Rack probably adds 5-10db, but I wouldn't want to cruise long distances with one if I didn't have to.

I'll be looking out for the PHEV one, as I do think they will bring it to the US at some point with increasing electrification of the brand.

Can you clarify which off road tires? Wrangler ATs or the Duratracs?
