Apologies if someone already posted it, I looked but didn't see anything.

It was in the tariff thread, but got buried.

Hopefully it doesn't last long and people start getting their special orders soon!

already in another topic about "25% tariffs" but it's something that lasts a day or two unless they are truly stupid or want to delay sales (the latter of those two is not possible).

It's 25% of the non-US parts already listed in the Malroney sticker, has been for years. My 23.5 D90S shows 23%, that's about $60 per thousand od the dealer price. I figure it's different by model and certain content.

That us $5000 or so on a $90,000 truck.

Almost surely they have or will use more US parts in US bound trucks. They have to.

Let's be honest, had you ever even heard aboht the tariffs that have always been there before?

Maybe not during my lifetime, but I am 70 now.
I had not. It is usually absorbed by the seller. Chinese sellers won't / can't do that.

That’s quite optimistic considering where the global economy is headed. Hope your outlook comes true, but not many holding their breath for that to happen.

Optimistic and not how it actually works. If you are 70 and just finding out about some of this stuff then perhaps a bit more digging. China, or any nation for that matter, don't absorb tariffs because tariffs are import taxes paid by American. This is the largest tax hike in American history.

Default Any way to verify this info ?

Does any one have more info on this ?
If the vehicle was ordered prior to tariffs, it is now under this rule ?

Wow! For once, I predicted something... In 2021 I was shocked that I was living under a rock and just discovered the "new" Defender (L663) was being imported into the US. I remember the early to mid '90's when the Defender was only imported for five years due to lack of demand (or whatever). So I eagerly got on the list & ordered one at a stupid time for fear that they would stop importing them again in the US in like five years, again. Whelp, it's now 2025. Five years later. Right on track, they've stopped importing them again.... My only hope/aspiration/prayer/optimism is that it won't be as long as the Defender 1 before they restart! Good news is perhaps BringATrailer.com will start having insane bids for the L663 like the original NAS Defenders...

The thing is the reason they aren't being imported is completely different. Now if five years ago you predicted it would be because the president jacked prices up so much JLR wasn't sure what it's next step will be, now that would be truly impressive.

This is only a temporary pause on imports for a month until JLR figures out what to do about the tariffs. By no means is it done for. Its not just the Defender, but all JLR products (and Maserati/Alfa Romeo, and Audi) are all temporarily pausing shipments to the US.

Can’t say nobody saw it coming, like a runaway freight train.
