Default L663 Base sound - upgrading (adding mids)

Hi All
i am upgrading my base audio system on a L663.
my car does not have any mid bass or a base subwoofer under the passenger seat.

first thing I noticed was the front doors do have the wiring for mid bass, however the wiring loom from car to the door is missing the male connectors. So I have added some wiring and plan to add this to the male connectors for where the pins are missing for the mid bass.

you can see form the picture of connector on the far right (3 down) , where there is a empty mid bass cavity.

however I am having trouble sourcing the pin shown in picture 1. Please could someone help me to identify the part number or a somewhere I can buy this pin in the UK, or even the Europe ?

thank you in advance

For the midrange speakers to work, you'll have to upgrade the amplifier to at least the base Meridian system.

Amazon sells a kits with hundreds of male pins in many variations. It would be a good bet that one of those would be the correct fit for your application.

Hi Garry,
unfortunately that type of pin is not sold as a spare part, I have not been able to find anything similar.
I upgraded from a basic system to a meridian surround system, so I also had to insert the two mids into the front ports.
I solved the problem by buying a used range rover connector, then with patience I extracted the pins I needed.

hello,
I didn't make a post, unfortunately the work is very long and complex.
you need all the woofer and midrange speakers, top-end, 2 tweeters for the rear, 1 tweetwe and a midwoofer for the dashboard, two mid tweeters for the rear ceiling, a subwoofer.
then a 700 watt amplifier, you have to do all the wiring, which will then be positioned on the bottom of the car, the mat cover must be disassembled, finally the ccf setting must be changed.
it is a job that can be done but requires equipment and skills.
if you want to do it and get the material, write to me privately and I will gladly help you.

I have Meridian base (10 speakers + subwoofer) and upgrading front 3-way speakers only currently (3 ohms) and wondering if I add 700 watts amp and replace center (4" + tweeter) and adding 2 rear ceiling speakers (2x 4") would be something do-able without having too much issue.

For ceiling, what kind of work gets involved? obviously wires have to run from the amp to the ceiling but I'm hoping there's some pre marked area I can just cut and pre placed mounting area where I can simply bolds in. If you don't mind, can you please help me on this? Thanks,

The midrange speakers and woofers on the Defender are 2 ohms, and the tweeters are 4 ohms. I'm about to order four OEM titanium-dome tweeters from the Meridian Signature system out of the RR, RRS, and RRV and replace the standard aluminum-dome tweeters. Part number is LR033292 and my dealer gave me special pricing at $71.00 a piece.

There are a number of people with Range Rovers, Discovery 5s, and Jaguars who swap out their Meridian Surround speakers to the Meridian Signature speakers even though the midrange and woofers are 4 ohms despite Surround being 2 ohms. You can't swap the Signature woofers into the Defender because they are too big (8" instead of 6.5"), and they seem to work perfectly fine despite the higher impedance, as all Meridian systems are more powerful than advertised. Go to the parts catalog and you'll find the base Meridian amplifier is 600w, despite being rated at 380w or 400w. The Meridian Surround has a 1,280w amplifier despite being rated at 650w, 700w, 800w, or 825w, and the Meridian Signature system in the Range Rovers are rated between 1,300-1,700w and the amplifier is actually 2,500w.

I've attached below a spec sheet from Meridian for the systems in the first-generation Evoque. The Defender uses the same speakers as the Evoque with the same specs, apart from the subwoofer, which is different depending on model. The Evoque doesn't have the same subwoofer as a Defender or Range Rover, for example.
