Lane keep assist too aggressive? Possible to adjust the nudge amount?
Is there a way to reduce how much it 'nudges'? Driving at highway speeds this thing really nudging me right into the other side its kind of scary at that speed that I disable it when there is oncoming traffic, I'm hoping there is a way to change the nudge amount but i can't seem to find anything
Unfortunately there is no way to configure the LKA. It is one of the most annoying features IMO and I never use it. Obviously, you can turn it on or off, and you can activate emergency LKA, which will nudge the car back in the lane if you get too close to a curb or if you are veering into another lane and it detects oncoming traffic. Other than that, there are no other LKA settings.
I will admit to keeping my Lane Keep Assist mostly deactivated. It is annoyingly forceful. I'll turn it on when using cruise control on the highway, that's about it. Drives me crazy around town on B-roads.
I gave it a try for a few weeks but then turned it off. No, there's nothing else you can do.
For me, it wasn't so much the force of the "nudges," which is not really that bad. But the nudges are frequent, intrusive and often kind of unpredictable. Also, at times instead of just giving you a bit of a "nudge", it seems to grip the edge of the lane and hold onto it. This causes a sense of a loss of control and can feel alarming at times.
Also, this is quite a wide car, and in many roads, you are fighting the nudges far too often. Or else, I WANT to hug the lane on one side, because a car or truck, etc., is too close for comfort on the other. In response, I found myself holding the wheel with an uncomfortable death grip most of the time.
Now, I wish you had more fine-grained control over the safety features. Don't like the "nudges"? Well, if you turn it off you lose several other arguably more important safety features.
Anyway, it's off for me, and it's a much more comfortable experience.

I find Lane Keeping Assist and Emergency Lane Assist extremely annoying, and turn them off every time I enter the vehicle. Just wish there was a shortcut, it takes numerous taps through several menus to accomplish this. If I wanted a vehicle to drive and think for me, I would buy a Tesla. NOT!
Also, if the driver aid button on the wheel (as mentioned above) doesn't work for you, look into programming the user-configurable diamond button to turn it off. Then at least it's one push instead of a dive into the menus.
What's really wild is I was given a new Jaguar as a loaner after my power steering went out... And the Jaguar's lane assist on the highway was literally as good as any self driving. Smooth, not jerky. Really left me wondering what happened with the feature on the Defender? Same manufacturer, but it was a complete night & day difference.
