Default Locking No Longer Working Properly

Before I take this thing into the dealership with the associated long wait for repair, thought I'd check with the group. The locks do engage with a single press of the button. However, the lights no longer flash and the mirrors no longer fold. And after about 3-4 seconds, the horn does a double beep. Furthermore, the double tap to alarm the truck which is usually followed immediately by a horn beep no longer seems to work. The behavior is the same whether using the door handle or key fob. This all happened after accidentally hitting the fob panic button. Any ideas?

That sounds like the mislock warning, ie the car thinks there is a door/bonnet open or not locked. I would check that all the doors are actually locked and maybe open the bonnet/hood and give it a good slam to make sure it is closed.

From the manual

MISLOCK

When locking the vehicle with the smart key, a mislock can occur if:
  • One or more of the doors, the bonnet, or the taildoor are not fully closed.
  • One or more of the doors have failed to lock.
  • The vehicle's ignition is switched on.
If any of the above are present, the vehicle does not lock and an audible mislock error warning sounds. The hazard warning lights do not flash and the power-fold mirrors, if enabled, do not fold in. Check that all of the doors, the windows, the bonnet, and the taildoor are closed properly. Make sure the vehicle's ignition is switched off. Lock the vehicle again. If the mislock persists, consult a retailer/authorised repairer.

Sounds like a mislock. If, as above, all doors and lids etc are closed... then based on my experiences with other (current/prior generation) LR products, it probably points to a bad door latch in one of the doors.

Did you ever figure out what it was? My ‘24 has the same thing happening. Figured an update would fix it but can’t lock the doors….

yeah yeah yeah…
all doors, trunk and hood and been opened and closed multiple times.

Going to disconnect the battery, wait 5 minutes and see what happens. If nothing into service it goes.

I’ll report back here after it’s fixed.

for context on my issue: went to lock the car with the remote app. Sounded like it locked, but the app reported failure. Doors weren’t locked. Tried the Fob, each time I press lock all the interior lights in the car flash for a second, I hear the locks do something but they don’t lock.

Disconnected the negative terminal of the battery under the front passenger seat for 5 minutes and it fixed it. Seems to be the fix for a lot of electrical issues on these vehicles

Check the rear gate. The bolts on my rear gate hatch lock mechanism have come lose twice causing a similar issue.
