Default Looking for rooftop cargo recommendations

I'm looking for any recommendations on rooftop cargo carriers.

I've got the factory crossbars on top right now so looking for something that would fit onto those.

I like the look of a basket but probably not a functional item as I will almost exclusively be hauling suitcases up there and so I'm worried about wind noise and weather getting onto the suitcases.

Is the only option a thule box - and if so - does anyone have one that they recommend that will easily fit onto the defender crossbars?

Thanks.

I installed a Pelican box on my expedition rack, I had to file down the T-bolts a bit to make it fit the track. I'm not too familiar with the standard cross bars but if they have T-slots it should work. Not too much more wind noise that without, personally think the square shape looks better on our square trucks!

I also have Pelican cases, about to add my third one. We changed our luggage to soft packing bags.

I am using Bad *** Tent low profile roof rack and bars. I have a second bar on order and will change the arrangement

Pelican cases BX140R, BX90R, BX55S

I hope this helps

Any roof box will fit on crossbars. No problems with any make or model. Roof boxes are like barns. Bigger is better.

how do you like the Bad *** roof rack? How the noise? Do you have the front bar?

There is a bit of noise, but it could also be from the Pelican case mounts, they are upright.

I was looking for a very low rack due to my carport hight, and this was one of the cheaper options. I did not do much research.

I do have the front bar and a second one is shipping any day now. I do suspect that I mixed up some of the roof mounts between the front bar and the rack, which resulted in the set not perfectly aligning.

I will take a closer look once the second one arrives, happy to post more pictures after the install.

I have a Thule Motion 3, size large on OEM crossbars. I didn't want to block the SXM antenna with the XL size. Large size has been fine for winter ski transport and college dorm moves. But the XL size isn't much more expensive.
