Lost USA GPS data with no resolution from LR--yet--
So after a dealer visit in early May, where a software upgrade was performed, all US GPS data disappeared, and the only data that can be accessed is UK and European maps and data!
Took the Defender back to the dealer and they were unable to load the US data back, and that is with help from Land Rover Support techs in the US. Dealer said LR is going to research this further, and after three days, dealer called and said they "think" my issue would be resolved when the next over the air update is scheduled and that date is June 22, supposedly per LR tech gurus in the US. Mind you, I never saw any messages to perform any over the air updates since I have owned my 2020 Defender, and I cannot see what software version I am on (even though I have told the dealer about the inability to see a version number multiple times). I have 3500 miles on the odometer and the PIVI has been nothing but trouble since owning the car. For LR techs to be unable to reload the US maps on my GPS leaves me wondering how reliable this system is. Couldn't LR buy a solid proven system off the shelf somewhere (like Sony or Harman-Kardon) and incorporate it with their vehicles? Why do they always have to complicate things?
I would appreciate any inputs on this especially from forum members who had the same issue.
