Lucky 8 -installations?
Hi all,
Has anyone had Lucky8 install their products on your Defender at their shop? Or did you purchase their items and install them yourself?
Just looking for some advice as I am trying to drive down from Toronto...
Many thanks!

They have affiliates listed on the website for install. In my case it was Independent Land Rover in Rockville MD. I bought from Licky8 and they installed, did a good job. I also installed some myself.
Smart to have them all done simultaneously. Check with your local dealer before considering going south. Just to check the price difference. I know the dealer installs come with a warranty. Check with lucky8 and see if they warranty their products and install. Also consider that you’ll have to go back down there if they do and something goes wrong as opposed to your local dealership. Just brainstorming here 😉

I used their you tube videos to guide me through 2 installs, the side steps and the mud flaps. They are time consuming but a 2 banana job in difficulty. Bought their exhaust tips for a 90 and super easy install also using their videos.
The painful part of the mud flaps is drilling into the virgin plastic and hoping you put the template on right. I also have a lift in garage and made the side steps and flaps so much easier.

I agree with the above, but will say this based on my experience - it’s NEVER as easy or as straight forward as the YouTube installs. The goofy clips are the biggest headache. Sometime they come off easily, sometime you need a winch on a D10 to get them off, but usually they break. Then you need to speak several languages to get the correct new clips from the parts department. Leave the wrench and ball peen hammer in the workshop. I have three new defenders and have yet be able to find any rythem on installs and fixes. I bought into the defender line thinking “Jeep” type mods, etc. instead I am a great revenue stream for my dealer and independent! Still love the Defender.
All my clips came off without any herculean efforts but did break. The service manager from the dealer I bought it from told me, when I said I was going to do the install myself, that the clips will break and there are a lot of them. He gave me the oem part # and number I would need for replacement I then ordered at on line store. The only thing I should have deviated from on the video was on the mud flaps. The installer left the rear wheels on the vehicle when installing, I think if I removed it would have a been a bit easier.
Im fortunate, I dont plan on any additional "mods" for my 90 other than what Ive done. I have reserved the mods for my 200 series LC.
