@Defendit.. - I'll admit I'm ignorant of the set up, but I'm very intrigued! I guess that's why I lurk on this Forum is to learn new stuff. They look great in the mock above. I could never place it there because of my bull bars / roo bars, but I'm interested in how it's designed. Down the road I want to add some off-road night lights and trying to cover all the bases so I only make one "tuition payment". Anyway, how do you plan to have them set up to light? The description says "High Beams". Are you wiring it into an existing harness/power source so that they come on whenever the high beams are on - or - is that just a description and you plan to use them with a switch as a tertiary light source? If the former, where are you tapping them in? If the latter, where are you routing them into the cab? Specifically, where thru the firewall (the typical round rubber grommet by the steering or something else?) and where are you mounting the switch?
First I will tap the High Beam into a relay, so it goes on together with the factory high beams.
Want to make a second Switch ( DPDT) next to my Switch for Aircompressor and Fridge for Winch relay and auxilairy high beam. ( Carling HR)
Made some progress yesterday and today, total 6 hours spent till now
Everything went smooth.
Placing the relay box with the supported bracket from Reul under the Hood.
Need to make relocation cables from 3 1/4 feet . ( 1 meter) , ordered together with clamp/shoes, double the spec according the standard Warn cables.
@Defendit. When I used the relocation brackets on the P400 I found that the corner of it had to be cut do to one of the cooling hoses being a little too close and rubbing. Would love to hear how it goes with your install. Looks awesome so far
Update today, still waiting for my new ( longer 0 awg) cables for relocation.
Did the cut for first High Beam, now looking how to position them, flush.
Need to make a bracket behind them for sturdyness / shock proving
Wiring will be done all on the inside of the bumper, should be making removal of the bumper the same as before.
Started cutting the hawse fairlead out of the Skid.
License plate position, try out
I ordered the Lucky8 winch tray kit that I had since September. I would have maybe tackled it myself but I am down to one vehicle and can’t have it down for several days. Surprisingly a local JLR dealer agreed to to the install for around $1500 🇨🇦 . I supplied the winch & bits. which I thought was reasonable, apparently they have a couple of techs who are LR off road enthusiasts and wanted to tackle the job. I left them the car today for a week that I am at work & will have pics next Thursday hopefully
