This is exactly why I would much rather own a vehicle with a matte wrap than true matte paint. I'd rather pay the extra money for a matte wrap than pay extra for matte paint from the factory.

This is a different vehicle but I had a G63 that had factory "Matte Magno Black" paint, which is really more of a dark "charcoal" grey, and truly lovely when in the in the right lighting. Then it was also had a 99% body wrap in PPF matte. The effect was just amazing:

The close roof/rear corner shot is to show that the roof had NO ppf while the rest of the body did. The ppf actually retained a nicer satin sheen all the time while the paint on the roof would require continual care.

I replaced this with a Defender recently but I do miss some aspects of the G while I love other things about the Land Rovers far better for my personal taste and purposes.

Black is the only Defender color that I’d PPF in matte, and reason is that black is a total pia to maintain.

Otherwise, I find matte PPF makes a car look like it’s been driven in the rain and left to dry without washing, as the shiny is now flat.

I have a differing opinion from Darover2 (or for that matter many others) but, I recommend a ceramic coating on the PPF and whatever is not PPF’d. Looks great and easy to maintain.
