Default Moon dust moans?

After the very first pretty easy and uneventful ride over a moon dust covered gravel road the driver side mirror and the front passenger door handle started making sounds that I would only expect from a mechanism that's been neglected somewhere in a sand desert for a long time. Did I get lucky, or that's a common occurrence? If so, is there a TSB or a known fix?

(in Office Space voice) Umm Yeah; that's what I'm afraid I'll have to do though I'm not liking it a single bit. From my previous desert experiences, hosing stuff tends to hammer small particles into mechanisms and and makes them impossible to retrieve.

All right, let me see what I can do.
