I had a P400 loaner car for three weeks while my P300 was waiting on parts and I averaged 18.5 mpg. My daily commute is 12 miles from my house to the office, with 10.5 of those miles on the highway. I also did quite a bit of city driving as well. The P400 got slightly better fuel economy than my P300, where I average around 17 mpg on a daily basis.

My lifetime average on the P300 is 18.7mpg over 16,000 miles. Best tank was 22.8mpg. I almost always buy shell v-power and I’m generally a law abiding driver. I have the expedition roof rack with a fairing, ladder and RAÍ. Running the default wranglers still.

I struggled to get to 17mpg for an all-interstate run from Atlanta to Albuquerque last month, about 1400 miles. Did it in one day, avg speed on the computer for the trip was 79. I think I was at about 16.6 by the end.

I don't know how you do it. I'm getting 16 MPG in a D90 P300 under ideal conditions. It's more often somewhere like 14 in a mix of driving. I drive quite respectfully and gently. Maybe it's still breaking in and will improve over time? I can hope, but I'm not optimistic.

I’m getting 10-15 around town and 20-27 on highway.

Default Not good for me

This is the best I have been able to achieve after driving it over 4 years. When I first got it, it was less than 10mpg. When I tow and do 70mph it’s 4.9mpg so we do 50 mph and I get 7.9 mpg towing. Good luck.

Two trips today mostly on the highway. Remote app shows 25mpg while the trip meter showed 22mpg. No idea why the difference. This is typical for me on long trips. 2024 p400 with just over 11,000 miles

It would be interesting to know if those of you with terrible gas mileage have any external accessories like roof rack, ladders, etc. My unadorned P400 gets about 22 to 24mpg on highway
