Default Mudflaps Advice

Mudflap”s recommendation please for my new Defender 110...I really want to add the classic oem but such a pain to do with the drilling of the fender trim & such ….. Any recommendations for similar look with an easy install?
Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Stick to the OEM mudflaps. They have two options.

Drilling them is nerve wracking to say the least on your brand new vehicle. But, the OEM kit comes with templates to cut out that you can put in place that line everything up. Measure twice, drill once, you will make it out the other side.

I had hard time drilling on the OEM body trims as well but once you drill, it fits very nicely (and tight), you will not regret it. As long as you're not going to take them off, I highly recommend OEM version.

Agree - genuine only.. . It’s not hard to do it. And definitely do not pay the dealer. Pay an indy shop (that specializes in LR) to do it if you’re not inclined.

OEM for sure. There's no comparison. It is technically not a hard job if you can use a drill and a template. If not, go to an indy that can do it.

Was it necessary to remove the wheels? I do have air suspension if that helps? Also when removing the the outer exterior trim to drill should I expect to lose some fasteners/clips? …

Thx for all the input!

Not necessary to remove the wheels. You won't need any replacement clips. I would get a set of trim removal tools to pop the plastic rivets out in order to detach the wheel well liners.

They are not hard to mount and make sure with whoever does the job that they use the template.

One thing is though, new OEM classic mud flaps (larger retro style version) are now come in DEFENDER logo instead of Land Rover as LR is trying to brand their own product lines more than the mothership. And I personally do not like the new one as short and long DEFENDER logo leaves large mud flaps somewhat empty compare to angular oval Land Rover logo. (I like the DEFENDER logo on the gear carrier over LR logo but not on the mud flaps)

So just check both version out and pick whatever you like. =)
