While I won't quibble about a sunglass holder or soft-close rear gate, I will be torqued off if my V8 comes without any USB connections in the backseat should it arrive this Oct. That's a major downgrade. That would require additional wiring to be installed post-delivery and that may prove no simple or cheap task for a service department, if its even possible to add aftermarket.

Like you mentioned, I also dislike the alcantara steering wheel. I will have to wear driving gloves not to get it matted out unevenly even after a few drives. Its just cheap fabric used on race cars for better grip.
Let us know if you find a solution for the alcantara steering wheel as others (myself included) may copy you. I really wish I would have optioned all leather interior instead of leather+alcantara seats but the dealer wouldn't let me change anything after my allocation was confirmed. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to see the alcantara in person until after I placed my original order. I don't like how it has aged in the '22 examples I have seen. It looks unkempt and dirty, even when clean.

So I think those USB seats in the back of the seat are definitely gone... And the hard seat back has been replaced with the mesh backing. The click and go looks terrible as part of the headrest. And removing the 2 DC outlets and replacing them with blanks... eff off LR.

As for the leather wheel... I hate alcantara in general--which is why I went with leather seats... They do not make a leather wheel with paddle shifters... I'm debating sourcing a leather wheel and just swapping it, and losing the paddle shifters--I'll never use them anyhow.

Well, I'll throw a monkey wrench in the works. My D90S did not come with the USB ports or the receptacle for an Ipad, coat hanger, etc. in the seat back but it did come with the hard back and solid magazine pouch, no mesh pocket.

Hmmm... The 90 must use different front seats (they fold)... but who knows... My daughter's volvo xc40 did this... Her 2019 was the first year the vehicle came out and had all the fancy options. They value engineered it every year after that and removed things (like the under seat storage compartment). It's like they build the car to get good first reviews and then start pulling stuff from them. stupid

Default Just got it yesterday

Hey Everyone. Just picked up my wife's new daily driver - a 2023 Carpathian Edition. Back in mid December she had a guy in front of her pull a bone head U-turn and total out her beautiful 2022 MDX with only 13,000 miles. Such a waste. Anyway, took her to the local Land Rover dealer to check out Defenders. She pulled out of the dealership on a test drive and said "Ooo, that's nice". Sold. Acceleration on the MDX was one of our biggest complaints. Waited a month for them to wrap the front end and install mud flaps and running boards after I had them powder coated. I need to research adding the roof rails and why the dealership won't do it.
This will be our first Land Rover purchase. So far I've taken it on one ride and my initial thoughts are - damn that thing is good looking!
Unfortunately, it's a snowy week here now so my only pic is of it already splashed with road salt.

Congrats on the new ride! You said you wrapped the front end? Did you apply a wrap over the wrap?

Going from an MDX to a Carpathian is quite the jump! IMO

Especially in price!
Yes, we applied the protective wrap over the hood and also the front fenders. Hedging our bets on the cost of the wrap vs the cost of rewrapping the fenders with the Carpathian material should they get too hacked up in the future.
In all reality, this truck will very likely never be off road on purpose. I'm the kind of guy who still parks his 23 year old 4Runner at the back of the grocery store/gym/work parking lot to avoid door dings - even though it's got a handful of them (and a ton of rust underneath) so, the idea of having branches ripping down the sides of it, and the associated costs to make it look pretty again, makes my left eye start to twitch.
But.....find me a nice open terrain and you never know.

It's a defender, not a Rolls Royce. It looks the best when it covered in mud and road salt!

Beautiful color!

V8 folks who have also driven a P400 - can you please review the highway cruising volume with the V8 engine?

if you’re not cooking it with throttle, does it settle into a nice comfortable cruise?

interested in the v8 but don’t want to give up comfort. Thanks for your thoughts.
