My first Land Rover - 2022 Defender`
Hi folks,
I am a long time Toyota truck guy that just got my first Land Rover. I managed to find a bare bones 2022, configured exactly as I wanted. Blue with white roof, Cold Climate pack, trailer hitch and fogs. Coils springs and not even a sunroof! Car had 17K miles and was missing an A-pillar since they had ordered the updated part and hadn't painted it yet. As a proper introduction to Land Rover ownership, it spent two days in the shop before even picking it up! They were trying to get the nav to work and failed. It needs a new sat/nav receiver and there is no ETA on when the part will come in. LOL All in all, not a huge deal and covered under factory warranty. Maybe someday the part will come in. Of course, I don't expect it to be like my 200-series Landcruiser that needed nothing other than oil and brakes during 105K miles.
Other issues? Nothing major. The center speaker grille on the dash is warped and won't stayed snapped down. I think I can pop it off and heat gun it back into shape. The previous owner installed the ladder which I like but it rattles over bumps. I added some neoprene pads behind the bump stops and that quieted it down nicely. Pivi is a little flaky. Steering wheel buttons feel cheap and are slow to respond. Stereo shuts off randomly and navigating the radio is an ergonomic mess. That said, it is miles better than my 10 year old Toyota and a huge upgrade for me. I am pretty pleased.
And driving the car is a revelation. I love the ride on road and off. The P300 is just fine. Once I fixed the ladder rattle, is it tight as a drum. No rattles squeaks or other noises. Mileage over the first couple of weeks is right on the EPA estimates (at least according to the dash.) I picked it up in the evening and dropped it at the tire store the next morning and drove straight to Vermont for some skiing including 5 miles each way of unpaved muddy/snowy mountain pass. In other words, I got it dirty right away. Here's a pic. Tires are the new Duratrac RT in 265-70/18. No rubbing.

Congrats. You will love it. Also you got a perfect spec.
--Is it the left side steering wheel button that's wonky? Mine has been like that since new, every other button feels precise, that one feels very loose goose on mine. It's pretty common... unsure why. Mine responds to button presses about 50% of the time, it's rather annoying I agree. The right side steering wheel buttons are precise and spot on.
--Center dash speaker grille sounds like someone's been messing with it. I'd see if they will replace under warranty. Or just buy new part.
--Stereo shouldn't be shutting off. Check the software version on your pivi (go to software update, it shows the software version, latest is 4.1 but not everyone's there yet). Perhaps you have an old version.

Thanks. Yep. it's the left side button! Only works about 50% of the time.
Agree on the grille. Not too worried about it.
The dealer bumped me to 4.1.1 and it didn't help the stereo stuff.
Again, pretty minor stuff all in all. I would like the nav to get fixed, but other than that, I am pumped!

Congrats! I hear you about 105k miles with only oil changes and brakes with the Toyo. But I will offer my 2022, ordered in Feb 2021 and delivered June of 2021 and now showing 35,000 miles on the clock, which has never seen the inside of the dealership since I rescued it. I've done the oil changes, conversion to 18" wheel spec (I have a P400, which you've probably already learned isn't available with 18s because the rear calipers are too large), and my local Porsche indy ordered and installed a new shark fin (sat receiver and ClearSight rear camera) when I scraped mine off backing at an angle into a too-low garage. But no warranty work at all. Oh, and I had a metro-area Land Rover shop do the winch install -- I've done many of them on Jeeps but this is a holenother kettle of fish. I didn't want any part of that job. Some on here have done it themselves -- hats off to them.
35,000 is a few short of 105,000, for sure, but I've made it a lot longer than I expected. Hope I didn't just jinx things!
Cheers.

Congratulations, looks a lovely Defender. The spec is pretty much identical to mine.
Cold climate pack, front fogs, towing pack, Tasman Blue.
I've fitted side steps since the photo below. Done 10,000 trouble free miles so far.
Hopefully you'll get the software issues fixed and everything working.
